The Interpretation Centre has been designed to allow a more significant relationship with its surrounding landscape. It is desired to recover it gradually, and as much as possible close to that which existed in 1385. Thus, visitors have the opportunity to follow the course of the Battle of Aljubarrota and get to know the most important facts. This course includes the places where originally was located both Portuguese and Franco-Castilian army, where was placed: Nuno Álvares Pereira, D. João I, english archers and valentine wing, the “bombs” used by the castilian army, castilian cavalry, D. João I etc. Located at the Interpretation Centre, the São Jorge Chapel was built in 1393 under the order of Nuno Álvares Pereira.
